Perfect!

Mark Buehrle threw a Perfect Game yesterday for the Chicago White Sox. That means 27 up and 27 down in order. No double plays. The cool thing about a perfect game is that, unlike a no-hitter when no one gets a hit, no one ever gets on base at all; no walks, no errors. Many times no hitters are broken up with a home run. I don't know why, but it seems that in one pitch all of the things that are on the table are gone in one pitch and swing. The no hitter and shutout are wiped out as the ball flies into the stands. Yesterday Buehrle not only took a no hitter into the last inning but also a perfect game; that's right no walks and no errors. He had put down 24 straight batters. And then it happened; the drive. Let's let Hawk Harrelson call it....

As you can see it was out of the park...for a split second and brought back in by Dewayne Wise helping Buehrle to record only the 18th perfect game in Major League history.

Living Stones Church: UFC Part 3

This past Sunday marked the end of a series that was aimed at the men of our church with laser accuracy. For me to say much about it would only diminish what my pastor, Sam Barrington, said and did (just click on the title to go directly to our website to find the podcast). Let me just say I am now wearing a "dog tag" that reads "Something Worth Fighting For" and attached with it a sword and a cross as a reminder of that message. I will say this though. As men, we are probably our family's first and last line of defense, combining daily prayer and physical action if necessary. God, through His Son Jesus, Who sent the Holy Spirit for us, has equipped us to do battle with all sorts of enemies that satan continues to throw at us as men, as well as our families. Ladies and particularly gentlemen this is a "Can't Miss!" Listen to this and the other two messages in this series. It should resonate in men all across the city of South Bend in general, and in particular the south side. I must warn you though. It will change your life. If it doesn't you'd better check your pulse; there must be something missing in your chest.
