I Know Who's Over the Rainbow

War is hell. Innocent men, women and children lose their lives. Mostly, we only read about them. They tend to be faceless. That is until today in this video.
War is a life changing event. It affects those without guns, and those who have them. I really wish that we could find a way to not hate any more. The longer I live the more I love the words written in red. If we lived our lives according to the words of Jesus, we'd be a lot better off.
I believe we get the ideas about the rightful place of war in our world, from the Old Testament. Well here's a news flash-Jesus fulfilled the OT and the Law. We are free from all that. And if we are free from that, we are free from the Pride that causes war. Luke 6:27-36 are not just any words. They are the words of Jesus. If we believe any of His other words and leave these alone, we are in serious trouble. If we fail to abide by these words we are taking God out of the equation in our most difficult circumstances. Maybe it's time to bring our men and women home and allow God to do His thing through us, without lead and shrapnel. If these are in fact holy wars, who better than God to become our true Defender.
All I know is that Christ didn't preach war. He taught peace. He said to love our enemies. I don't know about you, but before I get over the rainbow, I want to see as many people get to the other side as possible. The best way to get them there is through the love of the Gospel of Jesus. You see the only violence we should be telling people about is the Crucifixion of our Lord. He died so we could live. Live in peace and love with all mankind. Some will accept Jesus and some won't. Our job is to love them all, no matter what. It is time to void our hearts of hate. I'm starting today. Won't you?
